The provider will perform clinical assessments in their own office, using user-friendly systems and dedicated provider support.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry is required.
• An active and unrestricted license is required.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience is required.
• Medical license is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate, and diagnose health conditions in patients.
• Apply clinical expertise to eye conditions to support Veteran disability claims.
• Gather evidence through medical and military record review, tests, interviews, and examinations.
• Develop a medical opinion on the likelihood a condition relates to military service.
• Ensure timely, expert examination so VBA processes claims properly.

Your Role as a Provider

As a clinician, you are an expert in the assessment, evaluation, and diagnosis of health conditions for your patients. As an independent contractor with us, you apply your clinical expertise in the evaluation and diagnosis of eye conditions to support a Veteran’s disability claim. As a certified medical disability examiner, you gather and synthesize clinical evidence through medical and military record review, diagnostic testing, interviews with Veterans, and face‑to‑face examinations. You develop a medical opinion of likelihood that the Veteran’s condition is related to their military service. The timely and expert examination assures that a Veteran’s claim is heard and dutifully processed by VBA.
