GENERAL FUNCTION

The Associate Optometrist is responsible for creating exceptional value in our patients' lives by delivering and leading the execution of NECE. They partner with the Store Manager and Field Leadership Team to foster a safe and motivating work environment that encourages commitment, innovation, success, and growth.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Provide excellent Patient/Customer Service by delivering and leading the execution of NECE.
  2. Assist with greeting patients and answering phones as needed.
  3. Conduct all services following Clinical Protocols and standards of care.
  4. Ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate recommendations for patients.
  5. Build positive Doctor/Patient relationships.
  6. Coach Associate Doctors on clinical protocols and audit charts as appropriate.
  7. Communicate effectively with store staff to ensure a seamless eyecare experience, including uncovering patient needs and guiding them to suitable products and services.
  8. Develop qualified Associate Doctors and store staff through training in orientation, front desk procedures, pre-testing, telephone skills, contact lens training, clinical protocols, Pearle Certified Eyecare, safety, diversity, HIPAA, loss prevention, leadership, and management.
  9. Encourage decision-making at the closest level to the patient.
  10. Provide timely, clear, and motivating feedback to staff and partners.
  11. Address performance issues directly and follow up on progress; partner with Store Manager for disciplinary actions and performance reviews.
  12. Collaborate to achieve store targets such as secret shops, sales goals, exam growth, profitability, and key performance indicators.
  13. Participate in staffing decisions, including recruiting and forecasting needs.
  14. Supervise inventory receipt and ensure timely processing of Managed Vision Care claims.
  15. Ensure office supplies and forms are ordered timely and maintain the office's appearance according to company standards.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctor of Optometry degree
  • Knowledge of current optometric technology and practices
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Organizational and time management skills
