Our client is hiring a skilled and dedicated full-time Optometrist to join their Staten Island, NY practice. As an Optometrist, you will work with a full staff support system and provide exceptional eye care services to our patients. This position offers a flexible schedule of three days per week and includes healthcare benefits. New grads are welcome to apply!

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive eye examinations, including assessments of visual acuity, refraction, and ocular health.
• Collaborate with the optometric team to diagnose and manage various ocular conditions and diseases.
• Prescribe and fit contact lenses and eyeglasses based on patient needs and preferences.
• Work closely with our full staff support team, including optometric assistants and technicians, to ensure a smooth and efficient patient flow.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all examinations, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in optometry and participate in continuing education to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
• Adhere to all relevant legal and ethical standards, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
• Collaborate with insurance providers to process claims and verify patient coverage.
• Communicate effectively with patients, addressing their concerns and answering any questions they may have.
  
  

Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry school.
• Valid state license to practice optometry.
• Strong knowledge of ocular diseases, conditions, and treatment options.
• Proficiency in conducting comprehensive eye examinations and performing pre-testing procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport with patients and colleagues.
