Job summary

Wellpath / Correct Care Solutions is seeking an Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care within our correctional facilities. You will perform eye exams, identify visual impairments, prescribe lenses and medications as needed, and document findings in patient records.

Work closely with Health Services Administration and staff to meet patient needs, participate in training, and ensure compliance with all state and facility requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Optometrist school.
• Experience in correctional/detention facilities preferred.
• One year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams to identify visual impairments.
• Educate patients and prescribe lenses and medications as needed.
• Utilize equipment properly and chart findings in medical records.
• Collaborate with staff to meet patients' needs.
• May participate in training and evaluation of new employees and ensure documentation compliance.
