Optometrist (full time/part time) The Eye Doctor Unlimited – Atlanta, GA

Responsibilities:

1. Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and detect any ocular abnormalities or diseases.
2. Prescribe and fit corrective lenses or contact lenses based on patients’ visual needs.
3. Diagnose and manage various eye conditions, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
4. Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries.
5. Educate patients on proper eye care practices, including hygiene, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications.
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists and opticians, to ensure coordinated patient care.
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient.

Skills:

1. Strong sales skills to effectively communicate the benefits of various eyewear options to patients.
2. Proficient in aseptic technique to ensure a sterile environment during eye examinations and procedures.
3. Knowledge of ophthalmology principles and practices to accurately diagnose and manage eye conditions.
4. Experience in senior care to provide specialized eye care services for elderly patients.
5. Excellent patient care skills to establish rapport, address concerns, and provide personalized treatment plans.
6. Familiarity with medical systems for electronic health record management and appointment scheduling.
7. Understanding of medical terminology and coding to accurately document patient encounters and submit insurance claims.
8. In-depth knowledge of anatomy to assess the structure and function of the eyes.
9. Experience in pediatric optometry to provide comprehensive eye care for children.
