This is a non-treating, non-determination position focused solely on assessments. The role supports a structured schedule, in-person location in Springfield, VA, and a caseload of 4-6 Veterans per day, with all necessary tools provided.

Qualifications

  • Active Optometry license required.
  • Proficiency with Visual Field Testing (VFT) recommended.
  • Comfortable using technology to review records and complete documentation.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Optometrist to join our team in performing medical assessments for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. Join MRG Exams to conduct comprehensive eye exams for U.S. Veterans. This is a rewarding non-treating, non-determination role focused solely on assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-person disability assessments for U.S. Veterans.
  • Review and analyze electronic medical records via a secure web portal.
  • Perform thorough eye exams, including Visual Field Testing (VFT).
  • Accurately document exam findings and complete the required VA forms.
  • Note: This role does not involve treatment or prescribing medication. Disability determinations are made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), not by the provider.
  • Caseload: 4-6 Veterans per day on average.
  • Equipment Provided: Computer and all necessary tools for documentation.

  • Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8a-4p.
  • Location: In-person role.
