Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry from an accredited institution.
• Must have passed optometric state boards and be licensed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct eye exams and vision tests to determine refractive status and ocular health.
• Establish long-term patient relationships through care and education.
• Interview patients to obtain ocular history and visual needs.
• Explain remediation options for ametropias and ocular disease; guide staff hand-off.
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications as appropriate.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care and promote eye health.
