The Department of Ophthalmology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital offers patients advanced, comprehensive, and effective eye care. Our dedicated physicians utilize the latest diagnostic procedures and patient care techniques to prevent, detect, and treat ophthalmologic disorders. The department covers a wide range of clinical specializations, providing comprehensive treatment for conditions such as vision problems, age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and corneal diseases.

Optometrist - Eye Clinic – Columbia - ACN - Pediatrics Experience and Low Vision Screening preferred

This role involves providing high-quality, comprehensive eye care services to patients at one of New York’s premier hospitals. Our optometrists collaborate with resident, fellow, and attending ophthalmologists to facilitate medical, surgical, and subspecialty eye care for patients with ocular diseases. The position may also involve participating in multidisciplinary projects aimed at improving patient care and quality, in collaboration with the Ambulatory Care Network (ACN) leadership. Together, we strive to improve the health of our patients and their families, strengthening our communities and the world.

Required Criteria

  • Doctor of Optometry with 1-3 years of experience (at least 6 months to 1 year experience preferred from SUNY School of Optometry)
  • Licensed Optometrist by the NYS Department of Education
  • Basic Life Support Certification
