GENERAL FUNCTION

The Associate Optometrist is responsible for creating exceptional value in the lives of our patients by delivering and leading the execution of NECE. Partners with the Store Manager and Field Leadership Team to build a safe and motivating work environment that encourages commitment, innovation, success, and growth.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent Patient/Customer Service through NECE.
  • Assist with greeting patients and answering phones.
  • Conduct all service in accordance with Clinical Protocols and standards.
  • Ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate recommendations.
  • Build positive Doctor/Patient relationships.
  • Coach Associate Doctors on clinical protocols; audit charts as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with store staff to ensure a seamless eyecare experience, including uncovering patient needs and transitioning to sales associates.
  • Develop and train staff in areas such as orientation, front desk procedures, pre-testing, contact lens training, clinical protocols, and company policies.
  • Encourage decision-making at the closest level to the patient.
  • Provide timely, motivating, and constructive feedback to staff.
  • Address performance issues promptly and collaborate on performance reviews.
  • Work with store management to achieve store targets such as secret shop scores, sales goals, exam growth, and profitability.
  • Recruit and forecast staffing needs, supervise inventory, and ensure proper supply management.
  • Maintain the appearance of the office and ensure visual standards are met.
Basic Qualifications
  • Doctor of Optometry degree.
  • Knowledge of current optometric technology and practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
