Job summary

Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC is seeking an Optometrist (1099) in Browning, MT to deliver comprehensive eye care within Indian Health Service facilities.

The role requires a Doctor of Optometry and an active license, plus at least 2 years of post-graduate experience. Board certification is preferred; BLS is required. The position is a full-time, 6+ month opening with potential for coverage flexibility.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry degree required.
• Active US Optometry license in good standing.
• Board certification in Optometry preferred.
• Active BLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience in Optometry.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive Optometry care utilizing IHS facilities and support services.
• Examine, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients.
• Refer patients to IHS providers and care vendors per IHS guidelines.
• Respond to temporary coverage needs within the service unit.
• Communicate issues to Clinical Director or designee.
• Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure patient care and efficient resource use.
• Understand Joint Commission, CDC, and Infection Control guidelines.
• Complete required administrative paperwork within 24 hours of patient visit.
• Provide consults to Hospital Emergency Department as needed.
