Job summary

Vision NYC seeks a motivated optometrist with a strong interest or background in specialty contact lenses, dry eye disease, and corneal disease to join our ophthalmology and optometry practice in Manhattan or Queens. Opportunity can be part-time or full-time.

The role involves collaborating with in-house ophthalmologists to manage medically complex patients and to evaluate and manage keratoconus, corneal disease, ocular surface disease, and other complex visual conditions.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited institution.
• Current New York State optometry license in good standing.
• Cornea and Contact Lens Residency training strongly encouraged.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy, collaborative clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye and vision examinations.
• Diagnose and manage refractive and ocular conditions within the scope of optometric practice.
• Prescribe eyeglasses and soft contact lenses.
• Fit and manage specialty contact lenses, with an emphasis on scleral lenses.
• Evaluate and manage patients with keratoconus, irregular corneas, corneal disease, and ocular surface disease.
• Provide specialty lens rehabilitation for patients with complex visual needs.
• Collaborate closely with ophthalmologists in the management of medically complex patients.
• Perform cataract and LASIK/EVO consultations.
• Perform dry eye treatments such as RF/IPL and Lipiflow.
• Educate patients regarding their diagnoses, treatment options, specialty lenses, and long-term eye care.

Vision NYC is seeking a motivated Optometrist with a strong interest or background in specialty contact lenses, dry eye disease, and corneal disease to join our growing ophthalmology and optometry practice. Opportunity can be for either a part-time or full-time position.

Vision NYC sees a significant volume of patients with keratoconus, corneal disease, irregular corneas, ocular surface disease, dry eye, post-surgical corneas, and other complex visual conditions . This creates a unique opportunity for an optometrist who enjoys specialty contact lens fitting, medically focused eye care, and managing patients who often require more advanced visual rehabilitation.

Our optometrists work closely with our in-house ophthalmologists to evaluate and manage complex patients, including those who may require medical or surgical intervention. Offices are located in both Manhattan and Queens.

• Manage follow-up care and ongoing specialty lens patients
• Collaborate closely with our ophthalmologists in the management of medically complex patients
• Perform cataract and LASIK/EVO consultations

• Educate patients regarding their diagnoses, treatment options, specialty lenses, and long-term eye care
