ETS Vision in eastern Iowa is seeking a full-time optometrist focused on medical optometry within a highly technical practice. You will collaborate with an ophthalmology consultant and manage a broad range of ocular diseases using advanced diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

Medical Optometry Opportunity | Advanced Technology | Eastern Iowa

A well-established, multi-location private practice owned by optometrists in eastern Iowa is seeking a full-time optometrist to join its team. The practice offers a highly medical scope, advanced technology, and collaboration with a visiting ophthalmology consultant.

Approximately 70-80% of patient care is medical, with opportunities to manage glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, dry eye, pediatric and myopia cases, post-operative care, punctal occlusion, specialty contact lenses, and other ocular conditions.

A visiting ophthalmologist serves as a consultant to the practice and is not an owner, providing cataract consultations and intravitreal anti-VEGF injections. The practice also sees frequent foreign bodies, ocular injuries, and unique pathology, creating excellent opportunities for medical management and co-management.

The practice offers an extensive suite of diagnostic and treatment technology, including:

• Zeiss Clarus ultra-widefield retinal imaging
• Cirrus OCT in all offices
• Meibography
• Corneal topography
• JETT Plasma II
• Virtual reality visual field testing
• Digital acuity charts
• Pediatric autorefractors and acuity testing
• Slit lamp video systems
• YAG laser
• iCare and Goldmann tonometers

Dry eye management is a major focus, including access to the JETT Plasma II for meibomian gland dysfunction and evaporative dry eye. The technology can also be utilized for aesthetic procedures such as non-surgical blepharoplasty and treatment of periocular concerns.

The practice also offers one of the largest optical selections in southeast Iowa, with more than 1,000 frames, and dedicated technician support that allows doctors to focus on patient care. Providers typically see approximately four patients per hour across comprehensive exams and medical follow-ups.

Schedule

• Four-day workweek
• Monday: 8:00 AM-6:00 PM
• Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Optional Thursday schedule available
• Shared call schedule
• Saturday morning coverage approximately 3-4 times annually

Compensation & Benefits

• $130,000 starting salary for four days/week
• $160,000 starting salary for five days/week

Minimum Qualifications
