Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based in Griffin, GA. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refractions, ocular health assessments, and contact lens evaluations. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and managing ocular diseases, prescribing glasses and contact lenses, and co-managing surgical cases as appropriate. The role also involves educating patients on eye health, treatment plans, and preventive care, while maintaining accurate clinical documentation. The Optometrist will collaborate with the optical and clinical team to ensure a high standard of patient care and a positive, efficient experience for every visitor.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and current, unrestricted license (or eligibility for licensure) to practice optometry in the state of Georgia.
• Clinical skills in comprehensive eye exams, refraction, contact lens fitting, and diagnosis and management of common ocular conditions (e.g., dry eye, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease).
• Proficiency with modern diagnostic equipment and EHR systems, with strong attention to detail in charting and clinical documentation.
• Excellent patient communication, education, and counseling skills, with a focus on compassionate, inclusive, and culturally sensitive care.
• Ability to work collaboratively with opticians, technicians, and support staff in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with reliability in maintaining schedules and follow-up care.
• Prior experience in a private practice or community eye care setting is preferred but not required; residency training in a related specialty is a plus.
