Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based in Chattanooga, TN. The Optometrist will provide comprehensive eye examinations, including refractions, ocular health assessments, and contact lens evaluations for a diverse patient population. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and managing ocular diseases, co-managing surgical cases with ophthalmologists when appropriate, and creating individualized treatment plans. The role also involves educating patients about eye health, preventive care, and vision correction options, as well as maintaining accurate and timely medical records. The Optometrist will collaborate with the clinical and administrative team to ensure efficient patient flow, high-quality care, and a positive in-office experience.

Qualifications
  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and current, unrestricted license (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of Tennessee.
  • Strong clinical skills in comprehensive eye exams, refraction, contact lens fitting, and diagnosis and management of common ocular conditions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with patients and team members, including providing education in accessible, patient-friendly language.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical environment with strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and follow-up.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice, ongoing professional development, and participation in continuing education.
  • Experience with EHR systems and modern diagnostic equipment preferred.
  • Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and a collaborative approach to working with technical staff, front office, and other eye care professionals.
  • Previous clinical experience in a medical or retail optometry setting is beneficial but not required for highly motivated early-career candidates.
