Role Description

This full-time Optometrist role is an on-site position located in Gainesville, FL. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refractions and ocular health assessments, to diagnose and manage vision conditions and eye diseases. Daily responsibilities include prescribing glasses and contact lenses, providing patient education on eye health and preventive care, and coordinating care with other providers as needed. The role also involves maintaining accurate clinical records, using diagnostic equipment, and adhering to clinical protocols and regulatory requirements. The Optometrist will contribute to a collaborative practice culture focused on patient-centered care and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and current, unrestricted license to practice optometry in Florida (or eligibility to obtain).
• Demonstrated skills in comprehensive eye examinations, refraction, diagnosis and management of common ocular conditions, and prescribing corrective lenses.
• Experience using standard optometric diagnostic equipment and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of care.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuing education, and staying current with developments in optometry and eye care.
• Prior clinical experience in a medical or optometry practice setting is preferred; residency or fellowship training is a plus.
