Organization Summary
Ophthalmic Consultants of the Capital Region (OCCR) located in upstate New York provides a comprehensive model of eye care with experienced specialists, ophthalmologists, optometrists, and opticians providing patient-centered eye expertise in Albany, Clifton Park, Schenectady, Schodack, and Troy. Whether a patient is visiting us for a routine visit, to treat a common eye condition or has a more serious eye disorder, we endeavor to provide the highest standard of comprehensive eye care services with excellence and compassion that will consistently exceed expectations. Position Summary:
The Optometrist will examine, diagnose and treat various eye conditions, and may prescribe glasses or contact lenses, working to improve their patient’s vision. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. The Optometrist will also ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records.

Ophthalmic Consultants of the Capital Region is a busy private practice with 13 physicians and five office locations. Employees are frequently engaged in repetitive tasks and are primarily working in a medical office environment interacting with patients, physicians and colleagues. Employees are occasionally exposed to biological hazards including, but not limited to, blood borne pathogens and/or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions. The noise level is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the physician is regularly required to sit, stand and/or walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The physician is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The physician is occasionally required to balance, stoop, kneel or crouch. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The physician must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds when assisting patients. Additional Information:
This position requires work to be performed on-site in one or more of our medical office locations. Ability to travel to and between our office locations is required. All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
