Job summary

Hero Practice Services seeks an Optometrist to provide preventive and restorative eye care with a focus on pediatric patients in underserved communities. You will diagnose vision-related conditions and guide staff in treatment approaches, reporting to the Vice President of Optometric Services.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality care and service by responding promptly to patient, caregiver, and team needs.
  • Examine patients, diagnose diseases, and perform required procedures.
  • Provide comprehensive vision treatment plans using accepted techniques.
  • Foster staff growth and teamwork to improve retention and satisfaction.
  • Refer patients to vision specialists when appropriate.
  • Maintain doctor case files with medical history and follow-up care.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking an Optometrist to provide preventive and restorative eye care for all patients, diagnosing and treating vision-related symptoms, as well as instructing staff on how to assist in patient treatment. This position will report to the Vice President of Optometric Services.

This position will be at-will, meaning either the employer or the employee may terminate the employment at any time, with or without cause or prior notice.

Pay range: $XX-$XX/yr

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality care and service by responding promptly to patient, caregiver, and team needs
  • Examine patients, diagnose diseases, and effectively treat and perform all necessary procedures
  • Provide comprehensive professional vision treatment plans to help them achieve optimal vision health, using accepted clinical and diagnostic techniques
  • Build a community within the practice that fosters teammate satisfaction and retention by developing strategies to achieve organizational goals, being available to staff, accepting feedback from others, developing subordinates’ skills, and encouraging growth
  • Arrange for referral to vision specialists when appropriate
  • Prepare a doctor case file including medical history, informing patients on general care and health of eyes at regular time intervals, and staying informed on the latest vision treatment techniques

Physical Requirements

This position requires full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk and stand, bend, communicate verbally (both in person and by telephone), use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a standard clinical environment. This role routinely utilizes standard optometric equipment.
