Job summary

People Fluent’s Eye Clinic seeks a licensed Doctor of Optometry to provide comprehensive vision care and treat eye injuries and diseases. The role involves prescribing eyeglasses or contacts and expanding the optometric service line within the faculty practice.

You will actively participate in the department’s clinical teaching missions and ensure credentialing prior to starting employment; Georgia license eligibility and a DEA license are required.

Qualifications

• Doctoral Degree in Optometry (OD) required.
• In-depth knowledge of eye-related disorders and conditions.
• DEA license for Optometry required; Georgia license eligibility and medical staffing credentialing needed.

Responsibilities

Position Description: Provides primary vision care. Diagnoses and treats eye injuries, diseases, and other visual disorders. Performs vision correction by prescribing eyeglasses or contact lenses. Develop a high‑quality optometric service line that provides a broad range of optometric services to patients in the faculty practice, actively participates in the clinical teaching missions of the department and institution, and provides administrative support as a member of the clinical faculty.

Position Requirements: Doctoral Degree in Optometry, OD. In‑depth knowledge of eye‑related disorders and condition. Must possess or be eligible for a Georgia state‑issued license for optometry. Must possess a DEA license for Optometry. Must be credentialed by the Medical Staffing Office before starting employment.

Preferred Requirements: 2 years or more of experience in Optometry. In‑depth knowledge of eye‑related disorders and conditions. Completion of an optometric residency, but not required. Possessor be eligible for a South Carolina state‑issued license for optometry.
