Optometric Technician - Medical Assistant

The optometric technician plays a key role in maintaining efficient patient flow, assisting the optometrist with pre-screenings and testing prior to examinations. No optical experience or certification is required; training is provided!

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality patient care
• Maintain a professional environment in the office and pretest room
• Understand ocular terminology and diseases
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients
• Complete paperwork and perform testing before the doctor’s examination
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings
• Perform exam pre-screening
• Review prescriptions and patient information carefully, consulting with team members as needed
• Maintain equipment properly

Qualifications

• Previous retail/optical experience preferred but not required
• Strong customer service skills
