The optometric technician plays a vital role in maintaining efficient patient flow, assisting the optometrist with pre-screenings and testing before examinations. No optical experience or certification is required; training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality patient care
• Maintain a professional environment and appearance
• Understand ocular terminology and diseases
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients
• Complete paperwork and perform tests prior to doctor examinations
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings
• Review prescriptions and patient information carefully
• Maintain equipment properly
