Job Description

The optometric technician plays a key role in maintaining efficient patient flow by conducting pre-screenings and testing prior to the optometrist's examination. No optical experience or certification is required; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional environment in the office and pretest rooms.
• Understand ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete paperwork and perform testing prior to doctor examinations.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings.
• Review prescriptions and patient information, and consult with team members as needed.
• Maintain equipment properly.
