Job summary

Eye Trends - Woodlands is seeking an Optometric Technician to assist the optometrist during eye examinations and patient care at The Woodlands, TX. The role includes pre-testing, collecting patient history, and guiding patients through the exam workflow.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, performing tests and measurements, assisting with contact lens fitting, administering topical medications, and supporting front desk tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Effective verbal communication to prioritize multiple tasks and handle calls/inquiries.
• Effective written communication to clearly document patient visits.
• Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
• Ability to listen, process transactions and interact with patients in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients before the examination by gathering medical history and explaining the exam process.
• Take measurements and perform tests to assess visual capabilities prior to the eye exam.
• Perform contact lens insertion and educate patients on insertion/removal.
• Order contact lenses and manage trials inventory.
• Administer topical ophthalmic and dilation medications.
• Scribe for the doctor and translate as needed.
• Support patient flow and communicate with staff and doctors.
• Assist in other areas of the office as needed and cross-train in other departments.
