Job summary

Adventure Dental, Vision, & Orthodontics in Lakewood, CO, seeks an Optometric Assistant to administer visual tests, operate diagnostic equipment, and assist with eyewear fittings. You will report to the Lead Optometric Assistant and help ensure high-quality care for underserved children.

The role requires ability to perform pre-tests, assist during exams, manage patient flow, and support the team with documentation and payments. Strong EHR skills and multitasking are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a vision practice preferred.
• Ability to tech, scribe, and perform optometric tasks.
• Proficiency in EHR systems is required.
• Ability to train and lead a team of Optometric Assistants.
• Ability to multitask and complete tasks on time.
• Knowledge of optometric software/databases is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand, monitor, and ensure smooth execution of office processes including coding, insurance benefits, patient collection and documentation.
• Call patients regarding appointment confirmations, reminders, cancellations, no shows and recalls.
• Support optometrists during eye exams by preparing patient, performing initial pre-tests and recording results.
• Accompany patients and parents during exams to pre-test patient and assist Optometrist in scribing and finding a good fit for glasses.
• Perform vision tests such as visual acuity, color vision, stereo, confrontations, pupils, ICT, and administer dilation drops.
• Help patients select frames and lenses based on prescriptions.
• Process patient payments during check-in and check-out.
• Ensure the practice is clean and presentable to patients (restrooms, lobby, etc.).
• Participate in other duties supporting high-quality dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children.

Adventure Dental, Vision, & Orthodontics in Lakewood, CO, is currently seeking an Optometric Assistant to administer visual tests, operate diagnostic equipment, and help with eyewear fittings. This position will report to the Lead Optometric Assistant.

Job Responsibilities

• Understand, monitor, and ensure the smooth execution of office processes, including coding and optometric materials, insurance benefits, patient collection, and documentation
• Call patients regarding appointment confirmations, reminders, cancellations, no shows, and recalls
• Support optometrists during eye exams by preparing patient, performing initial pre-tests, and recording results
• Accompany patients and parents during exams to pre-test the patient and assist Optometrist in scribing and finding a good fit for glasses

Job Qualifications

• Previous experience in a vision practice is a plus
• Ability to tech, scribe, and perform optometric tasks
• Proficiency in EHR systems
• Ability to train and lead a team of Optometric Assistants
• Ability to multitask and complete tasks correctly and on time
• Preferred knowledge of optometric online software/database, Intero Order processing systems, Google Docs, and Document Portal Spreadsheet software
