Job summary

Midwest Eye Consultants is seeking a Scribe to join our eye-care team. As a Scribe, you’ll work side-by-side with doctors and the clinical team, documenting patient visits and supporting examinations to keep care moving smoothly.

Starting hourly wage is $15–$17 based on experience. We offer health, dental, vision, a 401(k), paid holidays, PTO, and company-paid certification programs. This on-site role at Winchester, IN provides growth opportunities and hands-on training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous optometry or healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately document patient information in the EHR as directed during examinations.
• Assist optometrists and ophthalmologists with patient procedures.
• Help ensure the doctor has information needed for high-quality patient care.
• Escort patients to Optical and introduce them to the Optician, reinforcing recommendations.
• Obtain and document patient medical histories.
• Prepare patients for eye examinations and vision therapy.
• Perform preliminary and ancillary vision and diagnostic testing.
• Provide patients with instructions regarding medications, tests, and procedures.
• Assist technicians with clinical and administrative responsibilities.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and maintain efficient patient flow.
• Communicate with patients when delays occur.
• Answer phones and assist with appointment scheduling.
• Maintain appointment books and patient recalls.
• Keep exam rooms clean, stocked, organized, and ready for the next patient.
• Monitor inventory of medications and supplies.

Midwest Eye Consultants is looking for a Scribe to join our Fort Wayne team. As a Scribe, you'll work side-by-side with our doctors and clinical team, helping document patient visits, support examinations, and keep patients moving smoothly through their care.

What You'll Do:

What We Need:
