Southwest Eye Care in Glencoe, MN is hiring a full-time Optometric Assistant (1.0 FTE). You will support doctors with patient intake, perform pretests, and assist during clinics while managing front desk duties in a fast-paced ophthalmic setting.

The role includes optical tasks, contact lens responsibilities, ordering supplies, and occasional travel to other offices. Starting pay is $19.00–$20.00 per hour with PTO, holiday pay, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Three years related optical experience or customer service experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Take patient health histories and visual acuities; perform pretests requested by doctors and prep exam rooms.
• Assist doctors during clinic times and set up/close exam rooms.
• Handle front desk duties: answer phones, greet patients, check in, file, verify insurance, bill professional fees, schedule appointments.
• Perform optical duties: frame selections, lens ordering, frame adjustments, dispensing glasses/contacts, and notifying patients when products are available.
• Handle contact lens orders and trials, and I&R classes as applicable.
• Order medical supplies and eye drops used during visits; manage office supplies and cleaning.
• Travel to other offices as required and perform other duties as assigned
