Job summary

Visionworks is seeking a charismatic Optometric Assistant in New York to be the face of our exam practice, dedicated to guiding patients through the Visionworks journey with a simple, human and bold approach. This part-time role supports the store’s exam lane and patient experience goals while learning eye health concepts and product offerings.

You’ll assist with preliminary testing, introduce patients to the OD, and help educate customers on services and products to meet eye care needs.

Qualifications

• Related customer or patient experience preferred, but not necessary.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducing preliminary testing
• Introduce patient to OD and provide OD with important patient information
• Transition patient from doctor to sales floor and provide associates necessary information to educate and recommend products and services that meet their eye care needs
• Execute day-to-day operational activities to support the store's exam lane maintenance and patient experience goals including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to meet additional patient needs

Pay Type: Part Time

Pay Range: $15- $18.54 per hour.

The Role

A Visionworks Optometric Assistant is the very face of our Exam Practice and is dedicated to ensuring the best possible journey for every patient. This person is trained and knowledgeable about eye health and preliminary testing, optics, our products/services and managed vision care. The CS personally takes the patient through the first steps of the Visionworks experience ensuring their eye exam needs are met in a simple, human and bold way.

Compensation range for the roles is listed above. Applicable salary rangers may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. As a part of the compensation package, this role may include eligible bonuses, equity, and commissions.
