Job summary

Exowatt is seeking an Optomechanical Integration & Test Engineer in Miami to own the full test lifecycle for tracker hardware. You will design indoor benches, outdoor on-sun stands, and high‑flux test facilities, turning measurements into actionable design decisions.

You will run campaigns, quantify uncertainty, and develop automation in Python while collaborating with an AI-enabled team to push the limits of solar energy systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant engineering/physics field and 2+ years hands-on lab or integration experience.
• Strong math/physics fundamentals; verify results against limits.
• Hands-on optical bench experience with alignment and characterization.
• Instrumentation fundamentals: sensor selection, conditioning, calibration, DAQ.
• Proficiency in Python for test automation and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end optical test stands and measurement infrastructure.
• Design and run test campaigns; quantify uncertainty; present results.
• Characterize optical components and assemblies; verify alignment and flux.
• Develop alignment procedures for tracker platforms; verify field pointing.
• Automate tests and instrument control; enable AI-driven test campaigns.
• Close loop between simulation and hardware; compare to models.
