Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of mechanical design fundamentals.
  • Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, NX, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with fabrication, machining, welding, drilling, and/or mechanical assembly.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator.
  • Demonstrated passion for aerospace or observational technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize mechanical and optomechanical components.
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings.
  • Perform STOP analysis to verify system-level integrity.
  • Conduct FEA simulations for stress and thermal environments.
  • Collaborate with optics and software teams for mechanical compatibility.
  • Support the full product lifecycle from design to production.
  • Participate in design reviews and internal documentation.
  • Provide engineering support during fabrication and assembly.
