Job description

Key Responsibilities

  1. Independently develops and implements opto-mechanical concepts for high-performance imaging and/or illumination optics, including tolerancing, alignment, and automated mechanisms.
  2. Technically lead and/or execute engineering projects and spearhead research and development of new technologies, as appropriate.
  3. Identify and troubleshoot a wide range of significantly complex engineering problems.
  4. Specify or perform significantly complex engineering analysis.
  5. Interface with internal and external customers regarding significantly complex engineering issues to address customers' High Value Problems (HVP) for a range of products.
  6. Generate product specifications. Define, coordinate, perform, and document engineering tests.
  7. Specify the development, design, or modify engineering layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of significantly complex scope.
  8. Specify and review engineering documentation and engineering processes.

Qualifications

  1. BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
  2. Minimum 10 years of experience in the mechanical design field.
  3. Proficient in opto-mechanical, precision mechanical, and mechanism design; familiar with high precision optical design implementations.
  4. Experienced with 3D CAD such as Solidworks or Inventor, and FEA for static and dynamic analysis, CFD for flow analysis.

  • Demonstrates in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in own discipline and broad knowledge of other disciplines within the function.

U.S. Salary Range: $163,000.00 - $224,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
