Job summary

TTM Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Opto-Mechanical Engineer to advance precision assembly, alignment and characterization of discreet optical components at module scale.

The role involves developing new manufacturing capabilities for high-volume production and collaborating across engineering teams and external vendors. You will lead fixture design, perform tolerance analysis, and work with vendors on DFx, first article inspection, and process control while supporting prototype

Qualifications

• B.S. in Optical/Mechanical Engineering or related field with optics coursework.
• 3–10 years hands-on opto-mechanical engineering experience in precision manufacturing or photonics.
• Experience assembling and aligning module-scale optical components and systems.

Responsibilities

• Design module-scale optical fixtures and alignment tooling.
• Perform tolerance analysis and risk budgets across mechanical and optical domains.
• Develop and optimize passive alignment assembly processes.
• Collaborate with optical vendors on DFx and first article inspection.
• Characterize alignment using beam profiling or interferometry.
• Develop incoming inspection protocols for precision optics.
• Review optical and mechanical specs for accuracy in docs.
• Support prototype builds and performance characterization.
• Write engineering specs, SOPs, and test procedures.
• Assist with optical simulation testing.
