You will collaborate across hardware, software, process, manufacturing, supply chain and quality teams to deliver reliable, manufacturable optical systems.

The role requires hands-on prototyping, alignment, calibration, testing, and strong problem-solving and communication skills for cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Optical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in optical or opto-mechanical design and development.
• Experience designing optical or laser systems for complex equipment.
• Strong expertise in optical design, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and documentation.
• Proficiency with Zemax and SolidWorks.
• Hands-on prototyping, alignment, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop optical, opto-mechanical, and laser systems for advanced equipment.
• Define optical and mechanical architecture and perform GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and design analyses.
• Develop specifications, test plans, alignment procedures, and validation methods.
• Lead system integration, alignment, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations.
• Drive improvements in optical performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
• Own engineering documentation including optical layouts, CAD models, drawings, BOMs, specifications, and procedures.
• Collaborate with Hardware, Software, Process, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams.
• Manage suppliers and support prototype-to-production development of optical components.
• Manage small to mid-sized projects from concept through production.

The Opto-Mechanical Engineer will drive system development from concept through production, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, reliable, and manufacturable products.
