Job summary

TalentCloud Group Recruitment seeks an experienced Options Trader for a confidential New York-based firm. The role is mid-senior to senior and remote initially, with ownership of your own options strategies and a strong PnL track record.

You will work with quantitative and technology teams to continuously improve trading performance, develop strategies across global markets, and potentially grow into leading a trading desk. Visa to work in the United States required; sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Several years of options trading experience at mid-senior or senior level.
• Proven ability to generate consistent PnL.
• Strong knowledge of options pricing, volatility, derivatives and risk management.
• Quantitative and analytical approach to trading.
• Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, CS or related field.
• Crypto options experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of Python, C++ or similar languages is beneficial.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ownership.

We're working with a privately owned, global proprietary trading firm looking for an Options Trader to join its growing team in New York.

Our client is a privately owned, multi-strategy proprietary trading firm operating across traditional derivatives and digital asset markets globally.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on trading role offering genuine autonomy and the opportunity to make a direct impact.

You'll take ownership of your own options strategies, manage your positions and work closely with the firm's quantitative and technology teams to continuously improve trading performance.

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop, execute and continuously improve options trading strategies across global markets.
• Take ownership of your trading positions, including risk management, hedging and exposure to volatility.
• Analyse market data, pricing and volatility to identify profitable trading opportunities.
• Work closely with quants and developers to improve trading models, algorithms and execution tools.
• Monitor market movements, macroeconomic developments and news that could influence your strategies.
• Manage execution and liquidity to ensure efficient trading performance.
• Contribute ideas and expertise to the ongoing development of the firm's trading technology and infrastructure.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with experienced Options Traders who have a strong understanding of derivatives markets and, most importantly, a proven ability to generate consistent PnL.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Several years of options trading experience at mid-senior or senior level, with a demonstrable personal PnL track record.
• Strong knowledge of options pricing, volatility, derivatives and risk management.
• A quantitative and analytical approach to trading, with the confidence to make decisions in fast-moving markets.
• A degree from a respected university in Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience trading crypto or digital asset options would be a significant advantage, although it's not essential.
• Knowledge of Python, C++ or similar programming languages would be beneficial, but isn't a requirement.
• An entrepreneurial mindset, with the motivation to take ownership, contribute ideas and continuously improve performance.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating with traders, quants and developers.

Location & Working Arrangements

New York | Initially Remote

The role is currently remote while the firm establishes its physical office in New York.

You'll need to be based in the New York area and comfortable transitioning to an office-based environment once the local team and office are established.

Candidates must already have the legal right to work in the United States, as visa sponsorship is not available.
