Job summary

COMSOL, Inc. is seeking a Software Developer for the Optimization Algorithms within the Numerical Analysis group in Burlington, MA. You will contribute to the Optimization Module, implementing gradient-based and gradient-free solvers, and work with C++ and Java to extend numerical methods.

Qualifications

• PhD in gradient-based optimization or a closely related field.
• Excellent programming skills.
• Deep understanding of numerical methods for differential equations.

Responsibilities

• Work on the Optimization Module, an add-on product to COMSOL Multiphysics, implementing and testing gradient-based and gradient-free solvers.
• Contribute to the analysis, specification, and implementation of new numerical methods; document functionality.
• Work with C++ and Java; help users define custom objective functions and compute derivatives.
