Job summary

Sunex, Inc. at our Southern California headquarters seeks a Technical Sales Engineer - Optics to blend consultative sales with deep optical knowledge for imaging solutions in medical devices, robotics, and autonomous systems.

You will partner with customers, develop new business, collaborate with engineering and overseas manufacturing, and represent Sunex at industry events while traveling up to 25%.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in a STEM field.
• 3–5 years of consultative, customer-facing technical sales or business development experience.
• Knowledge of imaging optics or digital imaging systems; Code V or Zemax familiarity is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Entrepreneurial, motivated, and willing to travel up to 25% (domestic/international).

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers to understand requirements and provide tailored imaging solutions for medical, robotics and physical AI markets.
• Develop new business opportunities while growing relationships with key accounts.
• Collaborate with engineering and overseas manufacturing teams to deliver customer-focused results.
• Represent Sunex at trade shows and industry events to drive lead generation.
• Provide technical sales support, quotations, and proposals to close deals.
