Job summary

RxSight in Aliso Viejo, California, is seeking a research candidate for its Optics R&D division to help develop a light-adjustable intraocular lens and support optical testing, measurements, and fixture design.

The role requires hands-on lab work, collaboration with engineers, data analysis, and the ability to create reliable nomograms and documentation. A AS or BS in optics, optical engineering, physics or a related field is required; training on internal policies will be provided.

Qualifications

• Practical experience with optical testing techniques and metrology (interferometry, MTF, etc.).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or equivalent.
• Experience designing, fabricating, and aligning optical systems.
• Able to synthesize information, find data, and plan workflows.
• Identifies problems quickly and works well in teams.
• Continuously expands knowledge and skills.
• Reads and interprets numerical data.

Responsibilities

• Assist with optical testing of RxLAL and related products, including interferometric, MTF, and other measurements.
• Work in the laboratory to assist with nomograms for the light adjustable lens.
• Prepare and present data summaries and engineering documentation.
• Confers with engineering and technical staff regarding fabrication and testing of prototype systems, and modifies design as required.
• Design and commercialize new products based on light adjustable materials technology.
• Ensure that all laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
• Modify hardware equipment as needed.
• Design and build test and manufacturing fixtures as needed.
