We are searching for the best talent for our Optic Operator I (18 openings across Shifts A, B, C, and D)
Purpose

Performs a variety of repetitive and non-repetitive production activities as part of a manufacturing team in a regulated environment. Operates, monitors, and, when trained and authorized, sets up and adjusts manufacturing and inspection equipment—including cutting machines, microscopes, comparators, and optical benches to produce and verify units in accordance with approved procedures, process specifications, and quality standards.

Maintains a safe, organized, and compliant work environment; follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety, quality, and environmental requirements; and supports departmental environmental objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and inspect assigned manufacturing equipment in accordance with approved procedures, GMP requirements, and process specifications.
  • Perform authorized equipment setup, in-process checks, and parameter adjustments; promptly identify and escalate abnormal conditions, defects, or equipment issues.
  • Verify that equipment is within required preventive-maintenance and calibration status before use.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas according to established procedures.
  • Maintain materials and workstations using FIFO, Kanban, 5S, and other applicable visual-management practices.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, personal protective equipment, and waste-handling requirements.
  • Complete all required training and maintain qualification for assigned operations.
  • Participate in daily team meetings, problem solving, data review, and continuous-improvement activities.
  • Support team performance by communicating production, quality, material, and equipment concerns in a timely manner.
  • Accurately document accepted and rejected units and materials in production orders, line logs, and other required records.
  • Complete documentation at the time work is performed and verify entries for accuracy, completeness, legibility, and traceability.
  • Follow data-integrity requirements and promptly report documentation discrepancies or process deviations.
  • Complete production-order transactions and daily unit reports in the manufacturing system.
  • Record downtime and its cause accurately to support timely follow-up and recovery of production output.
  • Handle materials according to approved procedures and help maintain accurate production and inventory records.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, production, inspection, or regulated-industry experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, procedures, specifications, and production records.
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail for accurate measurements, counts, and documentation.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and routine manufacturing-system transactions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, communicate concerns clearly, and support changing production priorities.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, compliance, reliability, and continuous improvement.
