Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in optics, physics, electrical engineering, or related field.
• 1+ years of experience in optics, physics, electrical engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 1+ years hands-on experience with optical systems, laser systems, and optical lab environments.
• U.S. Person as defined by contract requirements: citizen, permanent resident, or green card holder.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, assemble, align, and characterize complex optical subassemblies and systems.
• Integrate prototype and proof-of-concept systems with lasers, optics, fiber optics, electronics, software, and precision mechanicals.
• Perform optical characterization and metrology: power, phase, frequency, polarization, stability, and noise.
• Troubleshoot optical and opto-mechanical systems and perform root cause analysis for improvements.
• Develop and document optical test plans, procedures, and instructions.
• Collect and analyze data to support engineering decisions and production readiness.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to develop and transition new optics to production.
• Support prototype development, sustaining engineering, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain engineering documentation and design records per production standards.
• Package completed optical assemblies for manufacturing quality.
• Follow safety procedures and equipment guidelines during all activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
