Job summary

Thomas Eye Group in Dunwoody, GA is seeking an entry-level Optician to measure, design, fit, and adapt lenses and frames based on prescriptions while helping patients select eyewear with confidence.

You will prepare lab work orders, verify lens accuracy, manage inventory, educate patients on care, and collaborate with providers to ensure precise, compassionate service. ABO Georgia license welcomed; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum High school diploma or GED required.
• Licensing: ABO and Georgia Licensed Dispensing Optician certification welcomed
• Experience: Current experience in an eyeglass dispensary, final inspection of eyewear with manual lensometer, ability to do adjustments and repairs of eyewear.

Responsibilities

• Design & Fit: Measure, design, fit, and adapt lenses and frames for patients based on optical prescriptions.
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, assisting patients in selecting frames and ensuring the perfect fit for their eyewear.
• Precision & Accuracy: Prepare work orders for optical labs, verify the exactness of finished lenses, and make necessary adjustments.
• Eyewear Management: Manage eyewear orders, perform quality inspections, and maintain inventory levels.
• Patient Education: Educate patients on proper eyeglass and contact lens care, and provide follow-up services including adjustments and repairs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with prescribing providers, collaborate with existing personnel for a cohesive experience for our patients, and assist in training new personnel.
