Florida Vision Institute in Stuart, FL is seeking an energetic Optician to join our multi-subspecialty ophthalmology practice. The ideal candidate is ABO/NCLE certified with 1–2 years of retail optician experience and will advise patients on lenses and frames, perform measurements, and ensure accurate dispensing of eyewear.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ABO/NCLE certification required.
• 1–2 years of retail optician experience.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly with patients, staff, managers, and doctors.
• Understanding of eye anatomy and vision basics.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Strong math skills for precise optical work and sales calculations.

Responsabilités

• Provides patient education regarding lens materials, products, and designs.
• Interprets prescriptions and transposes as needed.
• Recommends eyeglasses and frame selections based on prescription and lifestyle.
• Performs frame adjustments and ensures proper fit and care of eyewear.
• Measures lens power, pupillary distance, and other specifications.
• Orders lenses and monitors delivery timelines; communicates updates to patients and staff.
• Separates charges and handles insurance claims and payments.
