Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health is seeking a part-time Optician to assist patients in the Optical Department with their eyewear needs. The role involves greeting patients, verifying insurance, obtaining authorizations, and guiding patients to frames and lenses.

The position travels to Land O' Lakes and Tampa, with opportunities for growth and professional development. Candidate should have an Optician license and excellent interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Optician license required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients professionally, cheerfully, and in a timely manner.
• Verifies patient’s insurance coverage.
• Obtains authorizations and pulls previous files.
• Updates patient demographics as needed.
• Verifies HIPAA and Privacy signatures are obtained.
• Answers phone promptly and professionally.
• Schedules lens technician and I&R training appointments.
• Takes messages and follows through on requests.
• Assists patients with frame selection and demonstrates product knowledge.
• Performs prescription analysis and guides patients to suitable products.
• Prices orders accurately and assists with eyewear fitting.
• Resolves patient issues related to eyewear.
• Inserts/removes contact lenses training.
• Orders frames, lenses and contacts; posts charges in Intergy.
