Job summary

Binyon Vision Center in Burien, WA is seeking a Part-Time Optician to guide patients in selecting eyewear, measuring and fitting frames, and processing orders with precision. You will educate patients on lens options and eyewear care while delivering exceptional service.

The role offers a 16–24 hour weekly schedule, primarily Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with potential for an additional weekday. Office hours are Mon–Wed 8–5, Thu–Fri 8–3. No weekends.

Qualifications

• LDO or ABO certified OR 3+ years of experience as an Optician is required.
• Knowledge of optical terminology, eyewear materials, and lens technology is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
• Professional, upbeat, punctual, and eager to learn cross-training.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyeglass frames and lenses based on prescription, comfort, lifestyle needs, and aesthetic preferences.
• Accurately measure and fit eyewear using pupillometers and lensometers.
• Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and proper eyewear care.
• Place, verify, and receive eyewear orders; inspect finished glasses for accuracy and quality.
• Adjust, repair, and maintain eyeglasses and frames as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of current optical products, styles, and trends.
• Ensure accurate patient records and process insurance benefits.
• Provide outstanding customer service by addressing patient concerns and questions.
• Collaborate with doctors and staff to support practice efficiency.

Binyon Vision Center is seeking a Part-Time Optician to join their team in Burien, WA. As an Optician, you will guide patients in finding eyewear that matches their look, lifestyle, and personality. From recommending the latest lens technology to adjusting frames with precision, you’ll blend fashion with function while delivering an outstanding patient experience.

WHAT WE OFFER.

• Competitive salary of $23.00-$30.00 per hour based on education and experience.
• Employee discount.
• Part-time schedule of approximately 16–24 hours per week. The primary schedule will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the possibility of one additional weekday. Our office is open Monday–Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Thursday–Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No weekends required.
