Job summary

Tyson Eye in Naples, FL is seeking a Licensed Optician/Optical Consultant to accurately fill ophthalmic prescriptions, fit and adapt lenses and frames, and train patients in caring for their lenses. You will adjust eyewear for a proper fit and perform all optical repairs as needed, while delivering exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate has optical/medical experience, ABO certification or progress toward ABO, and a willingness to engage in ongoing education in optics; bilingual skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.
• Experience in optical/medical environment and knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
• ABO certification a plus or working toward ABO.
• Willing to participate in continuing education in the optical field for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately fill ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions.
• Fit and adapt lenses and frames for patients.
• Train patients in the care of their lenses and eyewear.
• Adjust eyewear to fit the patient and conduct repairs as needed.
• Support the practice with excellent customer service and teamwork.

Job description

We are looking for a Licensed Optician / Optical Consultant who can support our practice by accurately and appropriately filling ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions, fitting and adapting lenses and frames, and training the patient in the care of their lenses. They should also be able to adjust eyewear to fit the patient, and conduct all optical repairs.
