Job summary

The role designs, fits and adapts lenses and frames based on prescriptions, assists patients in frame selection, and prepares lab orders for grinding and mounting lenses.

You will handle insurance claims, verify compliance, maintain inventory, and ensure accurate billing.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an approved Opticianry program.
• Virginia Optician license required.
• Minimum 2 years Optician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs, fits and adapts lenses and frames according to prescriptions.
• Assists patients in selecting frames and measures facial/eye dimensions.
• Prepares lab orders and ensures accuracy of finished lenses.
• Maintains inventory, processes insurance claims, and performs basic bookkeeping.
• Maintains displays of optical merchandise and supports sales targets.
• Ensures Medicare/insurance compliance and accurate billing.
• Handles customer service and resolves patient concerns with supervisor approval.
