An optical care provider in Sun City West, Arizona is looking for a skilled dispensing optician. You'll assist patients in selecting eyewear, manage inventory, and ensure that prescriptions are correctly interpreted. Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a dispensing optician.
• ABO Certification preferred.
• VSP Billing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selection of best eyewear for their individual needs.
• Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit patient's needs.
• Measure patient's pupillary distance and optical centers.
• Place orders for frames, lenses, and contacts from prescription labs.
• Adjust eyeglasses using tools for a proper fit.
• Maintain records of inventory and patient orders.
• Verify lenses meet specifications.

Job Summary

• Obtain measurements for glasses orders
• Adjust frames and lenses to fit correctly on patients faces
• Order frames, lenses and contacts from prescription laboratories
• Manage inventory of frames

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selection of best eyewear for their individual needs
• Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit patient’s individual needs
• Measure patient’s pupillary distance, and optical centers of eyes
• Place orders for frames, lenses and contacts from prescription laboratories
• Heat, shape, or bend plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit clients, using pliers and hands
• Maintain records of frame inventory, invoices and patient orders
• Verify that finished lenses are ground to specifications
