Position Overview

We're hiring for an optician, someone who sells glasses at our office. While optical experience is preferred, we value attitude and culture fit over experience and are willing to train the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Frame styling and eyewear recommendations tailored to patient needs and preferences
• Measuring and fitting glasses with precision and attention to detail
• Explaining lens options, materials, and treatments to help patients make informed decisions
• Verifying and interpreting insurance benefits (particularly VSP)
• Processing eyewear orders and managing quality control
• Troubleshooting and adjusting eyewear for optimal fit and comfort
• Maintaining optical inventory and display areas
• Contributing to sales goals while prioritizing patient satisfaction

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an optician preferred but not required
• Strong knowledge of frame brands, lens designs, and optical technologies
• Excellent sales ability with a consultative, non-pushy approach
• Insurance billing experience, especially with vision plans
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to build rapport with patients of all ages
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
• Tech-savvy with optical software and equipment

Compensation

$25-35/hour. Pay will be based on experience and eagerness to learn.
