Job summary

American Vision Partners seeks an Optician to place patient care at the forefront by assisting with eyewear selection, fittings, and education on lens care. You will interpret prescriptions, take measurements, and order lenses from labs while maintaining quality checks and inventory.

Role requires a detail‑oriented, reliable multitasker with strong communication skills and basic Word/Excel abilities. Monday–Friday schedule and growth opportunities are highlighted by AVP.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous optical experience preferred; willing to train if eager to learn.
• ABO and NCLE is a plus, required within 6 months of hire.
• Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO) is a plus.
• Detail oriented, reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong computer skills (Word/Excel).
• Flexible schedule Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Interprets prescription and helps patients choose eyewear, consulting with physicians as appropriate.
• Takes optical measurements necessary for eyewear preparation.
• Orders eyewear from laboratory based on prescription and patient preference.
• Performs quality inspection of lenses and frames.
• Adjusts eyewear to patient and educates on care.
• Makes repairs using appropriate parts and tools.
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies.

Overview

As an Optician, customer service is priority one! You’ll assist patients with selecting and ordering eyewear, adjustments and fittings, and educating on proper eyeglass and contact lens care. Your initiative and organizational skills will keep us running at top performance, while your enthusiasm and knowledge will provide an exceptional patient experience.
