Job summary

Hometown Primary Optometry PLLC is seeking a patient-focused Optician for its in-person team in Gloversville, NY. You will help patients select frames and lenses, dispense eyewear and contacts, and support pre-testing and insurance verification to ensure smooth patient visits.

Ideal candidates have experience as Opticians or related roles, knowledge of lensometry and prescription dispensing, and a commitment to patient privacy. ABO and NY Dispensing Optician credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Optician, Optical Sales Associate, Optical Dispenser, or Licensed Dispensing Optician in an eye care, optical retail, or optometry setting.
• Knowledge of prescription dispensing, contact lenses, frame fitting, lensometry, and accurate measurements.
• Clear, compassionate communication and the ability to explain eyewear options and care instructions.
• Organization, dependability, and comfort balancing patient care, retail tasks, and administrative details.
• Commitment to patient privacy and HIPAA standards.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Competitive hourly wage of $22 to $24 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
