Job description

We are looking for an Optician to join our team. As an Optician, you will sell, fit, and dispense eyewear to patients. Our Opticians help customers look and see their best by working with the latest eyewear fashion trends!

Schedule:

Mon-Tues-Thurs-Fri 8:00 - 5:00
Wed 8:00 - 7:00 (rotating with other opticians)

Travel involved between Medina and Wadsworth locations.

What you will be doing

• Stay current with eyewear trends.
• Evaluate customer prescriptions and visual requirements.
• Recommend lenses, coatings, and frames to suit client needs.
• Measure clients' bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers using measuring devices.
• Sell contact lenses, spectacles, sunglasses, and related eye products.
• Assist customers in selecting frames based on style and color, ensuring they match facial features and prescriptions.
• Adjust plastic or metal frames for proper fit.
• Show customers how to insert, remove, and care for contact lenses.
• Determine current lens prescriptions using lensometers or analyzers when necessary.
• Order and purchase frames and lenses.

What you know

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• Customer service experience
• Excellent verbal communication skills

Desired

• 2 years recent retail optical experience (preferred)
• ABO/NCLE Certification
• Graduate of Optical Studies Program
• Familiarity with ophthalmology and optometry practices
