Job summary

The Lead IT Systems Engineer will support the Department of Homeland Security and NCPS initiatives, providing hands-on transport engineering and operations expertise across the transport network. You will collaborate with the ISSM to create an integrated IT Security organization for the program.

Required qualifications include Top Secret/SCI clearance, Security+ or DoD 8570.1 Level 2, and at least 5 years in a network management environment with DWDM/SONET/OTN proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a network management environment.
• Expertise in OTN/SONET/DWDM and related protocols and tools.
• Security+ or equivalent IAT/IAM/IASAE Level 2 of DoD 8570.1 is required.
• Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform test and turn-up of transport nodes and services traversing the network.
• Operate Transport Network Management functions in engineering and operations; SME for transport.
• Troubleshoot Tier-2 escalations for SONET, OTN, and DWDM issues.
• Coordinate Tier-2 network implementations, provisioning, configurations, and test/turn-up.
• Coordinate Tier-2 transport deactivation and decommissioning.
• Write and maintain technical operational docs and SOPs for Transport discipline.
• Develop and maintain circuit layouts, network diagrams, and supporting docs.
