Molex is hiring an Optical Test Engineer to join the Fiber Optic Engineering team. You will develop and execute optical test methods, align optics, and maintain advanced test equipment while collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance testing capabilities.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a technical field such as Optical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or Photonics.
• 2+ years of optics experience in a lab, process development, testing or manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency with LabVIEW for data acquisition and instrument control.
• Proficiency with Python for data analysis, automation and scripting.
• Experience with CAD software for fixture development and design.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specs; travel 10–15%.
• Familiarity with optical sources/detectors across wavelength/power ranges.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and document optical test methods for product characterization and qualification.
• Develop test methods to evaluate optical properties of materials used in fibers.
• Perform laboratory optical alignment using automated stages for active setups.
• Operate and maintain advanced optical test equipment (power meters, beam profilers, etc.).
• Design and build test fixtures and automated measurement systems.
• Analyze test data with statistics and prepare technical reports.
• Support environmental and reliability testing to validate performance.
